DJ PowerPoint spinning a set with visuals by Dr Lighthouse t at this years Southsea Fest on the stage hosted by SHNDG. This was the first major outing for SHNDG after a couple of successful bashes at the Arts Lodge in Victoria Park, Portsmouth.
One of our biggest installations to date as Kino Kult with 12 projectors covering this large venue for the launch of the Hedonic Psy-Co Party in Southsea. We did three events for them before we decided that we were not earning enough money from the event to make it worthwhile.
In August 2010 Proteus Theatre Company began a project called ‘Punchbag’ that set out to explore the theme of domestic violence but through the eyes of women and children who were either in refuges or seeking regular support though outreach projects.
Asea:Ashore is an arts and archive celebration of Southsea, and its relationship with the sea, in sound and video. Aided by Kino Foundation, and a grant from Southsea Town Council, artist Jez Stevens will rework vintage and historic film into a large scale video projection on a building on the seafront itself.
A collaboration between Dr Lighthouse and VJ PowerPoint (aka Jez Stevens). The video was originally shot by Jez Stevens in Hillsea Lines then remixed by Dr Lighthouse. The audio was originally recorded in the Buddhist caves of Ajenta, India by Dr Lighthouse and then remixed by Jez Stevens.
Kino Kult released a DVD of work by the collective for distribution to promoters and arts events. This video was included. A collaboration between Shadow Pusha and Dr Lighthouse featuring (with permission) the work of legendary Nawashi Steve Osada.
