The Front Room, organisers of Not Waving But Downing invited Dr Lighthouse to collaborate on the production of an event that would bring together poetry, film and performance into one unified experience.
With two projectors mirrored behind the performers, the show included poem-films curated by Elephants Footprint, performed poem-films and performance pieces featuring poetry, spoken word and live electronica. Working with the art director for the event Dr Lighthouse also created an audiovisual installation that lit up the stairs as the audience arrived. Though many of the performers created their own films for projection Dr Lighthouse was able to work with those extending their practice into this new field and either created new video material for them or sourced suitable media to work with. In particular, this led to a collaboration between Dr Light house and performance poet Craig Maskell to develop an AV set to accompany his performance.
